Grilled fish is one of the easiest and best ways of preparing high quality fish. First-class freshly cleaned fish grilled and served with boiled potatoes and Swiss chard is one of the most popular ways of preparing fish. 

  One of the finest seafood restaurants, which specializes in lobster and fish is Jastožera (Lobster house) in Komiža on the island of Vis. The choosing of live lobster, and preparing them in different ways in a beautiful setting makes this restaurant one of the most beautiful and best restaurants in the Adriatic.

A fish or an octopus is placed in a pot with potatoes in it, and covered with an iron lid, or peka. Live coals are placed under pot and on the iron lid. The whole meal is slowly baked and cooked for several hours which gives the food a special flavor and tenderness.


On the island of Hvar, one of the restaurants offers fisherman’s gregada. A fisherman's gregada is, along with brudet, one of the oldest meals with fish. Gregada is a fish "stew" that consists of several species of fish, onions, potatoes and wine. All the ingredients are placed in a pot and are cooked on low heat for about an hour and a half to two hours.



Brudet, although cooked with very similar ingredients, has a different method of preparation. Stewing onion in olive oil and by adding the tomatoes, fish, lobster and shellfish subsequently makes a difference in these two dishes. Brudet is served with polenta, while gregata is served with potatoes cooked in it.

A fresh tuna menu is one of the specialties in some restaurants. Within few courses you will meet different "faces" of tuna. From the freshly made tuna paté, over tuna carpaccio, tuna in chili sauce to a grilled tuna steak, we'll show you different approaches to preparing the various flavors of the same fish.


With fresh fish and seafood dishes prepared for the main course, we offer you appetizers made from the same. Seafood risotto, black risotto, scampi in buzara sauce, shellfish in buzara, pasta with shrimp, octopus salad and many other appetizers will surprise and delight you as well as our main courses.


Along with fish menues and seafood menues, Croatian coast also offers meat dishes. A young lamb under peka, veal under peka, grilled lamb chops, grilled steak and grilled beefsteaks in a variety of sauces, among which we recommend the steak in mushrooms and truffles sauce.
